I wouldn't ordinarily post a link to this article on the OER WSIS KC, especially with the heavy emphasis on ICT infrastructure/tools, and putting "education" last on their list, but I like the fact they've put education in the list of 12 big predictions for Africa in 2012.

At UNESCO, Africa is a global priority and we feel education is the #1 strategy for equitable and sustainable development. We view ICT in Education as the prime mover with a focus on open educational resources. The World Bank and African Development Bank report on ICT in Education is a great review.

We have only only 3.5 years to show significant progress to achieving the Millennium Development Goals #2 and #3 related to Education.
