About me:
J Tim Denny comes from a rural background growing up as a small scale farmer with a curiosity for nature, science and human interaction with the environment. He then went on to obtain a degree in geology from a medium sized liberal arts university in the state of Illinois, USA (1988). Having attempted a master degree in geography Tim changed courses and focused on educational administration and management at the masters level completing an M.S. (1990)
He then began a career as a classroom teacher at the post secondary level - 4 countries later and 15 years after he decided to focus on non-formal capacity building rather than formal academic instruction.
From 1994-1999 Tim completed a PhD in international development education at the University of Southern California (1999). Since 2005 Tim has focused on international development issues combining his long term experience in capacity building, educational technologies, leadership and science to focus on a wide variety of development issues developing countries in Asia and Africa. His work has taken him to a variety of Asian and African nations as he advises governments, intergovernmental organizations, NGO’s and develops his own programs.
Tim has founded many social networks and active NGO’s over the years. In the year 2000 he took over administration of Inter-L – the largest community of practice for international education professionals with focus on the US, at present that group has over 2000 members. He has started numerous other social and working groups with the use of online tools including two recent Joomla Users Groups to focus on web development issues.
Presently he works as an independent consultant while simultaneously serving as the executive director of PC4peace, and actively involved in a host of other projects big and small as they come his way.
