About me:
Lisa Petrides, Ph.D., (tweeting at: http://twitter.com/lpetrides) is president and founder of the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME) an independent, nonprofit research institute in Half Moon Bay, CA. Dedicated to the study, spread, and strategic use of knowledge management in K-20 education, ISKME conducts social science research, develops research-based innovations, and builds capacity to improve information access and knowledge sharing. A former professor at Columbia University, Teachers College, Petrides is an innovator working at the forefront of understanding how developments in open source, social networking, and social media can impact—and already have impacted—educational practice and policy. Examples include ISKME’s OER initiatives such as OER Commons, an open source teaching and learning network that supports and facilitates the creation, sharing, and adaptation of open educational resources, and Big Ideas Fest, a unique three-day immersion into collaboration and design with a focus on modeling cutting-edge thinking in K-20 education. Her personal favorite license is CC BY SA, perhaps because as the youngest sibling in the family, it only seemed right that people share what they have with others.
